On February 22, 2017 the Corn Growers Association of North Carolina held a check-off referendum asking growers to continue the self-assessment program for six years. The Board of Directors was pleased that the referendum passed with a 91% majority and would like to thank all growers that took the time to vote. Board members are especially grateful to extension personnel for overseeing the voting at their extension offices and helping publicise the referendum with the news media, social media, and at grower meetings.
The certification document with totals of votes in each county was sent to Dr. Tom Melton and Karla Frizzelle at North Carolina State University. We appreciate their help in assuring the integrity of the vote totals and their other assistance with the referendum.
